Zine Library

The Details!

Welcome to The WasteShed’s Little Free Zine Library, a new program that brings self-published creativity into the hands of local readers.

This program is now open at both our Humboldt Park and Evanston creative reuse centers, offering a free and accessible space for sharing and discovering zines, chapbooks, pamphlets, and other DIV publications. Our zine libraries are small shelves that live near the register at each location, ready for anyone to peruse and take home.

We invite you- yes YOU- to bring us your Zines! Whether they’re personal projects, collaborative efforts, or publications you love- help us build a little free zine collection for The WasteShed community!

How it Works

  • 1. Submit your Zines

Bring a stack of your zines, chapbook, or other DIY publication to either The WasteShed Chicago (Humboldt Park) or The WasteShed Evanston.

  • 2. Curation Process

We review all submissions and reserve the right to decline any materials that contain harmful or hateful content.

  • 3. Library Rotation

New zines are added as they come in, and each one will remain at least for one month once they’re up on the shelf!

  • 4. Totally Free

The zine library is not for sale- this is a free resource for the community to browse, borrow, take home, or return at their leisure.
